![]() Small town girl with the goal of landing a career in the heart of down town Chicago, Ill., Allison (Allie) Trosper is a sophomore public relations major and second year member of the ISU Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, and is one to keep an eye out for this year! Tell us about yourself. I am a public relations major with an undeniable passion for the sports industry. When I’m not wrapped up in school work, I am usually at the ISU Student Fitness Center working out or working as a Fitness Floor Monitor. I love attending ISU sporting events, spending time with family and friends and meeting new people around campus. I am from a small town named Catlin, Ill. and although coming to ISU was a big change for me, I could not have asked for a better freshman year. Why public relations? I chose public relations because I am a social butterfly. I am a people person and that is exactly what public relations is, the people business. I am charismatic, happy and feel like I can turn almost any situation into a positive one. Why did you decide to join the ISU Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America? I joined because I wanted to graduate as the best public relations student I could be. I wanted to learn the skills I will need out in the real world of public relations after college such as writing, networking and creative skills. Also, I wanted to meet people and make new friends. After attending my first meeting last year, I knew I had found the place where I would continue to grow even more as a professional for the next four years. What has been your best experience at ISU? This past summer I was a Preview Guide for ISU’s freshman orientation program. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I welcomed all the new Redbirds to campus and helped them with all of their concerns and questions before coming here in August. I also was a Curb Bird Coordinator for Watterson Commons this year during move in. So not only did I get to see all my preview students again, I helped them move into their rooms too! What is your dream job? Only being a sophomore, I have a couple more years to decide what I want to do after college. My dream job would be to do any type of sports public relations. I am a huge Chicago Cubs fan, so I would love to end up working with them. Being a sports fan in general, I would like to either work for/with a professional athletes or for a collegiate sports team. Trosper is only a sophomore, but she has goals and ambitions that will have her more than ready to take on the public relations industry in a couple years. Questions composed by Ali Geary.
