“WHAT NOT TO WEAR” WORKSHOP
Members learned appropriate attire for speakers, panels, and agency tours.
Tips for appropriate attire:
• Avoid distracting jewelry
• Be mindful of skirt and dress lengths
• Be mindful of shoe height
• Keep make-up natural
• Match shoes and belt
• Keep hair trimmed and neat
• Tuck in your shirt
Member dues are $80 for the calendar year. Opportunities include National Conference, agency tours, PRSA dinners, leadership positions, and networking events. The deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 6. Please write checks to “ISU PRSSA.”
National Conference is November 6 – 10 in Atlanta. Dues-paying members can register for $310 until Oct. 2. Hotel cost is around $200. Airfare is around $100. Food ranges from $150 to $300.
The vice president application is due tonight at midnight. Apply by submitting a cover letter and resume in one .pdf file to the account. Interviews will be on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.

COM 178 Interviews
For students currently taking COM 178, interviews with executive board start next Tuesday, Sept. 22.
On Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 4 to 7 p.m., The Career Center will host an internship fair. Members are able to learn about multiple internship opportunities and network with professionals.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, PRSSA will have a fundraiser at Potbelly. Present your flyer for 25 percent of your meal go toward National Conference.
The first PRSA dinner of the semester will be on Wednesday, Sept. 23. Please give your money to Andrea by Sept. 16. We will leave the bone circle drive at 4:30 p.m.
The first tour of the year will be on Friday, Sept. 25. We will be visiting State Farm and Caterpillar. Members need to bring $10 for gas.
March of Dimes
March of Dimes is hosting their annual Signature Chef’s auction on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Volunteers should dress business casual.
We are looking for two to three people to work for PRSSA booth at Family Weekend. Email the account if you plan on volunteering.
Andrea will be collecting t-shirts for the t-shirt quilt. Members can receive one MIP per shirt. The quilt later on.
Member of the Week
Congratulations to Deja Whitt for becoming Member of the Week.
Congratulations to Allie Trosper for receiving an internship with Illinois State University Athletics.
Members can receive a t-shirt for $15.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, Ali Seys is coming to Chapter to speak. Seys is the Marketing and Communications Manager for United Way of McLean County and the 2014 – 2015 vice president. Members are asked to wear business casual.
