ANNOUCEMENTS:
 
CERTIFICATE IN PRINCIPLES OF PUBLIC RELATIONS: STAND OUT WHEN YOU START OUT
 
Graduating seniors must complete the computer-based exam 6 months before graduating or 6 months after graduating. The exam cost is $150 and the recommended online study course is $50. Online study materials can also be found on www.prcertificate.org. The Certificate in Principles of Public Relations is the stepping stone to Accreditation in Public Relations (APR). INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

WGLT:

WGLT is Blooming-Normal’s Public Media and a service to Illinois State University’s School of Communication. Internships are offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters to undergraduate students. Internships are unpaid but can be worth 3-5 credits depending on hours worked. Internship work areas include: music programming, photography, public relations and development, reporting (news and sports), and social media. Outstanding students who successfully complete an internship may be considered for part time employment. EPIPHANY FARMS:

Epiphany Farms is currently looking for a Public Relations and Marketing Intern. Interns work closely with the administration office on website development, social media marketing, menu and promotion development, and performing administrative tasks. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Tools, Adobe programs, social media platforms, and web design is a plus. Students pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design, Business Management, or a related field are ideal candidates.

Epiphany Farms is also looking for a Special Events intern. Interns in this field work closely with the Director of Special Events in planning and executing events on a variety of scales.

Join us at Blaze Pizza in Normal on Wednesday, April 12 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. to raise money for PRSSA!

Chapter tees will be ready for pick up at our next meeting Tuesday, March 28. If you did not pick up your shirt, please bring $16 cash to the next meeting or set up a time to meet with Katie. If you have any questions, please contact: krio@ilstu.edu
 
COMWEEK SPEAKER:
 
PRSSA will be hosting a COMWeek keynote in chapter on Tuesday, April 18 at 8 p.m. in SCH 138. Speaker, Aaron Schoenher, is the co-founding partner of Greentarget Public Relations and will be giving his presentation titled “The Chase”. If you would like to chat with Schoenher before the presentation, please arrive by 7:30 p.m. Pizza will be provided.

FLY PROGRAM CHECK-IN
 
The FLY April on-line check in will require members to meet with their FLY partner outside of chapter, snap a picture, and post it to the FLY Facebook page with a short paragraph about your progress by the end of the month. Questions? Talk to Chloe! ckasper@ilstu.edu
 
PRSA DINNER:
 
There will be a PRSA networking dinner on Thursday, April 13 at 6 p.m. at the Illinois State Alumni Center. The cost is $25. Speaker, Mike Fernandez, will be giving his presentation on “The State of PR”. Registration is now open on the PRSA Central Illinois website. Attention seniors! Please send in your baby photos for our senior send off!
 
We will also be collecting any photos from chapter meetings, agency tours, or other PRSSA events for our end of the year scrap book!

COM CUP
 
The COM Cup is a field day for all School of Communication RSOs. The event is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 29 at Underwood park from noon to 4 p.m. If you are interested in attending or being a part of the PRSSA team, please contact ecarrer@ilstu.edu
 
UPTOWN DOWNTOWN SOCIAL
 
The Uptown Downtown Social will take place on Saturday, April 29. The t-shirt order has been placed. If you ordered a t-shirt and did not pay online, please bring $18.91 to the next chapter meeting.  
 

NATIONAL ORGAN DONOR AWARENESS COMPETITION (NODAC)
 
PRSSA we will be taking part in the National Organ Donor Awareness Competition (NODAC). The event will take place on campus April 19, 2017. We are currently looking for volunteers to join our planning committee. Please let Tyler know if you are interested! tkrivich@ilstu.edu
