If you are still not receiving any emails after spring break, email Katie Helander at krhelan@ilstu.edu INTERNSHIPS It’s that time of year to start searching for and applying to internships to gain real-world experience that will build your resume and expand on what you are learning in the classroom. As a dues-paying member, you have access to internship opportunities provided at the national level. We also provide our members with updated internship applications at our weekly meetings. Applications are now being accepted for Summer 2019 Journalism and Communications Academic Internship Programs in Washington, DC. This program includes undergraduate academic credit from George Mason University, internship placement with a media or PR organization in the Washington, DC Metro Area, and fully-furnished on-campus housing. Possible internship sites include The Washington Times and The New York Times. Students who are members of PRSSA will be given priority consideration during the internship placement process. The ISU School of Communication is looking for PR Interns for this semester and upcoming semesters. Attached to this email is a flyer with more information on this opportunity. Responsibilities include event planning and execution, social media, designing flyers, and more. Assurance, an independent insurance brokerage firm in Schaumburg, Ill is looking for a Marketing Intern. The position involves hands-on involvement in all aspects of the Assurance marketing and communications department. Responsibilities include writing blog posts, contributing to Assurance’s social media strategy via social listening, supporting webinar and video efforts by transcribing content and more.
