INTERNSHIPS
It’s that time of year to start searching for and applying to internships to gain real-world experience that will build your resume and expand on what you are learning in the classroom. As a dues-paying member, you have access to internship opportunities provided at the national level. We also provide our members with updated internship applications at our weekly meetings.

Applications are now being accepted for Summer 2019 Journalism and Communications Academic Internship Programs in Washington, DC. This program includes undergraduate academic credit from George Mason University, internship placement with a media or PR organization in the Washington, DC Metro Area, and fully-furnished on-campus housing. Possible internship sites include The Washington Times and The New York Times. Students who are members of PRSSA will be given priority consideration during the internship placement process. The ISU School of Communication is looking for PR Interns for this semester and upcoming semesters. Attached to this email is a flyer with more information on this opportunity. Contact Tom Lamonica at talamon@ilstu.edu if you are interested.

The ISU Stevenson Center is searching for a PR Intern for the 2019-2020 school year. The PR Intern will work around 10 hours a week. Responsibilities include event planning and execution, social media, designing flyers, and more. COUNTRY Financial in Bloomington is accepting applications for various summer 2019 internships. COUNTRY Financial is searching for a Knowledge Analyst Intern, Training Design Intern, and Instructional Design Intern.

Assurance, an independent insurance brokerage firm in Schaumburg, Ill is looking for a Marketing Intern. The position involves hands-on involvement in all aspects of the Assurance marketing and communications department. Responsibilities include writing blog posts, contributing to Assurance’s social media strategy via social listening, supporting webinar and video efforts by transcribing content and more. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
It’s time to start looking for scholarships! 2019-2020 PRSSA Scholarships will be made available sometime this month. To view a list of available scholarships and to apply, visit the PRSSA website.

In the Honors Program at ISU? Several $1,000 scholarships are available! Applications are due April 1.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES
PRSSA dues-paying members have access to thousands of communication and public relations job openings across the world! You can log in to the PRSA Jobcenter with your MyPRSA account, which is activated once you join PRSSA.

GRADUATING SENIORS
If you are graduating in May and are a dues-paying member, you will receive a cord to wear at graduation. If you have not told Denise already, please do so by Wednesday by emailing prssa@ilstu.edu

CHICAGO AGENCY TOUR
Our next agency tour will be in Chicago on Friday, March 22. We are visiting USA Today Sports Marketing and the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls. You must be a dues-paying member or pay $20 to attend. Spots are limited. To sign-up, click here.

PRSSA BOWLING SOCIAL
PRSSA’s next Bowling Social is Friday, April 5 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. It is at the ISU Bowling and Billiards Center. This event is FREE, and there will be pizza! Feel free to bring your friends. If you are interested, sign up by clicking here.

PRSSA FORMAL
The PRSSA Formal is Thursday, April 11 from 8-10 p.m. at the Hancock Stadium Club. You are welcome to bring a plus one! Tickets are $33.46 and include a buffet-style meal. Please note that there will be NO alcohol sold at this event. You must wear formal attire to this event. To purchase tickets, click here. Please have your ticket printed out or electronically on your phone when you arrive at the PRSSA Formal.
