Megan Pellock, President
Megan Pellock is a senior, public relations major. Megan joined PRSSA her freshman year of college to get to know her major and get involved in on campus. She has had several internships. This summer, she interned at Concordia Publishing House in St. Louis, Missouri. She is currently interning with Illinois State University Office of Admission as the lead intern. She is very excited to help lead this organization to its fullest potential, as well as help students grow professionally. She hopes to connect with other chapters within the area. Her dream job is to be on the Communications team for the St. Louis Cardinals or work for an agency in the St. Louis area.
Damian Juarez, Treasurer
Damian Juarez is a junior, marketing analytics major with a minor in economics. He is a transfer student from Moraine Valley Community College who joined PRSSA his first year at Illinois State. Damian has experience as an optician with a demonstrated history of working in the health, wellness and fitness industry. He is now a strong healthcare services professional while seeking an undergraduate degree in Marketing. He wishes to work in Advertising and PR in his future career. After a year as a member of PRSSA, Damian applied for an executive board position and gained the role as Treasurer. Now being proud of his position, Damian is excited to succeed as PRSSA's Treasurer and looks forward to a great year!
Director of Digital Media
Mia is currently a senior, public relations major and a women's and gender studies minor. Illinois State University has given Mia the opportunity to study abroad in London, England in 2018 where she expanded her knowledge in international PR and media relations. This past summer, Mia gained an internship at the boutique PR agency, Margie Korshak, Inc. in Chicago. As a Public Relations and Social Media Intern, Mia was able to use her creativity and passion for social media in order to gain exposure for clients such as Krispy Kreme Chicago and the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation. As PRSSA's Director of Digital Media, Mia is looking forward to International Conference in San Diego and making new connections with PRSSA members!
Director of PRi
Taneka is a senior, english major focusing on public relations. Her interest in PR peaked after an internship with the English Department. During the internship, Taneka had to plan and coordinate a conference located in Minnesota. The work environment was fast paced and very engaging and she loved every moment of it! Taneka's dream is to be the director of her own Public Relations firm! Taneka wishes to promote the passions of others by connecting them to the public’s they aim to entertain, in ways that would produce growth and development. Her main goal is to start her career by working at a reputable firm that specializes in agency PR. This year Taneka will use her position as Director of PRi to gain valuable experience that she will utilize in her future career.
As vice-president of Illinois State University’s nationally-recognized Public Relations Student Society of America chapter, Mattie Bean is part of a leadership team for an organization with more than 80 future professionals in PR. Bean’s major PRSSA focus is on creating networking and career-building opportunities for her fellow students. Mattie's professional experiences include an internship with the communication and community relations team at Naperville Community School District 203! She now looks forward to receiving her degree in public relations in 2020. Bean's dream is to work in agency PR in the Chicagoland area.
Gabriella Solis is a senior, public relations major with a minor in sociology. She joined PRSSA to get more involved on campus and to boost her knowledge of the PR industry. She’s currently working as a Marketing Intern at Marcfirst where she is gaining experience in non-profit and promotional strategies within the organization. Gabriella is very excited for National Conference this year in San Diego where she will begin networking and expanding her knowledge for her upcoming career. Gabriella hopes to meet new people and build connections through her executive position in PRSSA.
Josh Pozniak, Director of Community Involvement
Josh is a senior, public relations major with a minor in sociology and is the director of community involvement. He transferred before his junior year from Harper College in Palatine. He joined PRSSA to further develop his passion for public relations. This past summer he interned with ComEd in Oak Brook. Josh is looking forward to working on service projects with charities in the area, working with the relations committee and going to San Diego for PRSSA international conference with the rest of the executive board. Josh wants to work with a public relations agency after graduating so he is able to find which aspect of public relations he is truly passionate about.
Mary Beth Deline, Ph.D., Faculty Adviser
Dr. Mary Beth Deline, is an assistant professor with the School of Communication.She has 15+ years of innovative and energetic research and communication leadership experience in Canada and the US on organizational and community engagement. She is an expert in designing research to leverage organizational and sustainability strategies, and in aligning people and resources on multi-partner projects.
