Letter from '23-'24 president

Hello redbirds!
      My name is Meghan Smith and I am the 2023-2024 chapter president for ISU’s PRSSA. I joined PRSSA on a whim during my Sophomore year. I wanted to make new friends while helping my professional development and quickly fell in love with PRSSA. As I worked my way through PR classes, it was so nice to have the PRSSA members give me tips on different classes and build reliable friendships along the way. 
       During my first year in PRSSA, I applied to become the Event Photographer where I took photos during our socials for our social media! The board was very welcoming and allowed me to take pictures at each of the socials! Throughout the year we had many speakers! I was able to learn how to grow my resume and understand creative ways to develop my career. 
     When the board announced they would be accepting applications for next year's board I knew I wanted to apply! Originally I applied for a few different positions including Vice President. Fortunately, I received a call a little while later asking me to take on the role as president and I was thrilled! I am very excited to be in this role and am doing the best I can to help PRSSA grow!
       This year our board is working to help our members learn from speakers, digest what they taught us, and apply it to our everyday lives! We will have social events and study sessions where all are welcome! PRSSA isn’t just for PR majors, we are here for anyone who wants to develop their professional career in the business world!
