Gift of Hope Gift of Hope promotes the benefits of organ donations and registers new donors. Our event is 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. next Wednesday, April 15. Please email the account if you are interested in volunteering. PRSA Dinner The next PRSA dinner is 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16 at the Bone Student Center. It is $25 to attend. Will Koch from COUNTRY Financial will speak about the social media crisis response to help tornado victims in Washington, Ill. Please email the account or talk to Frank if interested in attending. Tour Our last tour of the year is Friday, April 17. We will tour Weber Shandwick and Golin. A $10 deposit is needed to secure your spot, which will be returned to you the morning of the tour to give to your driver for gas. Please bring cash for parking and money for lunch. Please email the account or contact Frank if you are interested in attending, Masquerade Social We have a masquerade-themed social at 8 p.m. this Saturday, April 11 at apartment 23 at the Lodge. Wristbands are $10 and can be paid for at the door. Sign up with Lauren or Calysta if interested in attending. Social We have another social Saturday, April 18 in Uptown Normal and Downtown Bloomington. You must be at least 21 years old to attend. Shirts are $12 if you signed up for one; there are also some extras available. You may give your money to either Lauren or Calysta. Mentor-Mentee Social We have a mentor-mentee picnic at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at the Friendship Park on University. Member of the Week Congratulations to Klaudia Stachura for being member of the week for consistent attendance and participation in Chapter events including the Edelman and United Center tour. COM 378 The public relations major capstone class, COM 378, is being offered this summer online during the first six weeks of the summer term. PRSSA Awards The Zenith Awards is a competition for strategic communication students to enter work previously completed in a class or an internship. There are seven submission categories to which work can be submitted – Public Relations Writing, Public Relations Campaigns, Public Relations Publications, Electronic Media, Case Studies, Social Media, and Public Relations Research. The due date is April 17at 5 p.m., and the winners will be announced in a digital awards ceremony on April 27. If you have any questions, you can email [email protected]. Job/Internship Opportunities Up Late at State is looking for a social media intern from August 1, 2015 – May 6, 2016. Hours per week will vary.
