This year’s theme is “Inspiring Innovation.” The Career Institute is from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 9 in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center. ISU PRSSA has partnered with co-sponsor Illinois State University Student Government Association to proudly host guest speaker Randy DeCleene. Randy is a consultant based in Washington, D.C., with nearly 20 years experience and expertise in strategic communications, public affairs, public policy, government relations, marketing, branding, executive counsel, writing, and law. He is a partner at kglobal, a Washington, D.C., based full-service communications firm, which specializes in public affairs and public relations. With an extensive and impressive career, Randy has worked for the U.S. Army, Ketchum, Ogilvy Public Relations, and was the Deputy Press Secretary for the Office of Vice President Dick Cheney. At Real World D.C., Randy will speak about his career at kglobal, public relations in the political sphere, what life is like in Washington, and advice for young professionals with a healthy dose of wit and humor. Please bring your questions. This event is free and open to the public. Please come and invite your friends! Food and beverages will be provided. Tour The next tour is Friday, April 3 in Chicago. We will tour Edelman and the United Center. A $10 deposit is needed to secure your spot, which will be returned to you the morning of the tour to give to your driver for gas. Mentor-Mentee Social A mentor-mentee dinner is tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Pub II. LeaderShape LeaderShape is a six-day interactive program of self-discovery that offers team-building activities, discussions, and group exercises. Applications are due this Friday, March 20.
