Friday, March 10 – FLY Check-In due Thursday, March 30 – Sunday, April 2 – National Assembly Friday, March 31 – Agency tour ANNOUCEMENTS: CERTIFICATE IN PRINCIPLES OF PUBLIC RELATIONS: STAND OUT WHEN YOU START OUT Graduating seniors must complete the computer-based exam 6 months before graduating or 6 months after graduating. The exam cost is $150 and the recommended online study course is $50. Online study materials can also be found on www.prcertificate.org. The Certificate in Principles of Public Relations is the stepping stone to Accreditation in Public Relations (APR). If you are interested please contact Dr. Smudde: psmudde@ilstu.edu INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: WGLT: WGLT is Blooming-Normal’s Public Media and a service to Illinois State University’s School of Communication. Internships are offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters to undergraduate students. Internships are unpaid but can be worth 3-5 credits depending on hours worked. Internship work areas include: music programming, photography, public relations and development, reporting (news and sports), and social media. Outstanding students who successfully complete an internship may be considered for part time employment. RCMcBride@IllinoisState.edu EPIPHANY FARMS: Epiphany Farms is currently looking for a Public Relations and Marketing Intern. Interns work closely with the administration office on website development, social media marketing, menu and promotion development, and performing administrative tasks. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Tools, Adobe programs, social media platforms, and web design is a plus. Students pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design, Business Management, or a related field are ideal candidates. Epiphany Farms is also looking for a Special Events intern. Interns in this field work closely with the Director of Special Events in planning and executing events on a variety of scales. We will also be collecting any photos from chapter meetings, agency tours, or other PRSSA events for our end of the year scrap book! CHAPTER TEES: If you have not signed up for a tee yet but would like one, please let Katie know ASAP! We will be ordering chapter baseball tees! If you would like to reserve a tee, please sign up in chapter by providing your name, email, and tee size. The last day to sign up will be Tuesday, March 7. The order will be placed over Spring Break and tees will be available for pick up in chapter on Tuesday, March 21. Payment will not be collected until this date. The estimated price of tees is $16 each but depends on the total number ordered.
